#Just Because… UPCOMING COMPLETION: Clapham Common

Project Update: Clapham Common Terrace closing in on completion

We are delighted to announce the forthcoming completion of a comprehensive interior design project for a Victorian terraced home overlooking Clapham Common, almost exactly one year after first being appointed.

The project has reimagined the family home as a calm, contemporary retreat that balances everyday practicality with understated luxury. Respecting the property's original character, the design carefully restores and celebrates its period features while introducing a refined palette of natural materials, bespoke detailing and durable finishes designed to support modern family life.

Throughout the home, original architectural elements have been retained and enhanced, providing a timeless backdrop for contemporary interventions that bring warmth, texture and functionality to each space. The result is an interior that feels effortlessly elegant yet deeply comfortable—luxurious without being overly formal.

"This project has always been about creating a home that feels beautiful to live in every single day," said Tim Murray, Founder and Creative Director. "Luxury doesn't have to mean untouchable. We wanted every room to feel relaxed and welcoming, while ensuring the finishes and materials are robust enough to cope with the realities of family life. The balance between heritage and contemporary living has been at the heart of every design decision."

Working closely with the homeowners and the wider project team over the past twelve months, the studio has delivered a cohesive design that respects the heritage of the Victorian property while responding to the needs of a growing family. Bespoke joinery, carefully curated lighting, tactile materials and a muted palette combine to create interiors that are both sophisticated and enduring.

As the project reaches completion, professional photography will capture the finished home, showcasing the transformation from a traditional London terrace into a contemporary family residence where craftsmanship, comfort and timeless design coexist.

The completed project will soon be added to the Murray Fishpool portfolio, with further imagery and behind-the-scenes insights to be shared across the studio's digital channels.
